Jessica Ellen Cornish is an English singer-songwriter who goes by the moniker Jessie J. Known for her unconventional music sound, which combines soul with pop, electropop and hip-hop, Jessie garnered much fame at a young age. The awards she has won include the 2011 Critics' Choice Brit Award as well as BBC's Sound of 2011 as well as several nominations. Her career began at just 11, when she was part of the musical "Whistle Down the Wind' by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. She then joined the National Youth Music Theater and performed in their 2002 production The Late Sleepers'. In 2011, she made headlines after the release of her debut album "Who You Are'. The album was a huge success from the beginning. In the first week it sold 105,000 copies in the UK as well as 34,000 in the US. It topped the charts at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and number 11 on the US Billboard 200. Jessie is also well-known for her charitable work and is involved in charities including 'Children in Need,' and "Comic Relief."
